David Redfern, FRCSC, MBBS
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr. Redfern qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1993 and, subsequently, undertook his basic surgical training in London and Cambridge; gaining fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His higher surgical training was completed in the London deanery (St. George's Hospital). He has completed two specialist fellowships in foot and ankle surgery and orthopaedic research. The First fellowship was at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital and University in Baltimore. His second fellowship was completed in Bristol.
He was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals in 2004. He has extensive experience in treatment of the full spectrum of ankle, hind- and forefoot disorders, trauma and sports injuries, and a special interest in the latest minimally-invasive surgery techniques.
He has published extensively and is an international reviewer for the Foot & Ankle International Journal. He is secretary of the scientific committee of the EFAS and in 2010 was elected to council of the BOFAS (Web editor).
